TITK – Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research

As a business-oriented research institute, the TITK - Thuringian Institute for Textile and Plastics Research Rudolstadt e.V. - conducts both preliminary and applied research in the industry-related field.

In the department of Textile and Materials Research, material developments are carried out for textile reinforcement semi-finished products (nonwovens, fibers, filaments, scrim structures) and for fiber composite production. Processes such as pressing, injection molding, winding and extrusion are used. In cooperation with industrial partners, own process developments (manufacturing granules, fiber recycling) have already been transferred to industrial scale.

Through the subsidiary OMPG, an accredited testing laboratory, almost all facets of material characterization can be offered according to international standards.
